Getting settled!

Hello everyone!
I have finally found a place where I can access internet and I'm not distracted with everyone else.  Being in Bahrain has been nothing short of amazing.  It is hot here... about 100 degrees every day but I love it :)  No Nebraska winter here!  Everything I have seen so far is amazing.  The city is beautiful and the people are friendly but INSANE drivers!!!! They honk and are impatient and drive on sidewalks... it is impossible to explain.  Below are some of the pictures from when I first arrived:
This is my living room.  Sadly is is literally twice the size of my classroom. The windows pictured give an amazing view (it's pictured lower).  We are in Juffair which is full of hotels and actually walking distance form the Navy base.
Here is my kitchen!  No dishwasher but there is everything else you need!  We have a tea kettle that will make water for coffee hot enough in literally less than two minutes, way faster than a keurig!  It is a blessing in the morning with a little instant coffee.  Also, at the very left of the picture there is a white thing along with the cabinets... it is a clothes washer and dryer COMBINED.  It is all one machine!  I have never seen this in my life and I haven't had the chance to try it out yet but I will definitely let you all know how it goes when I do!
Here is my bed :) The pillow really sucks so I can't wait to by one!
 My dresser
The bathroom. We actually had guys the first couple days that we were here who just came in and mopped our bathrooms.  Apparently it is a very common thing for people in Bahrain to have maids and apparently clean your bathroom a couple times a day.  Some of the guys said that you an have the whole apartment deep cleaned by a maid for 12BD which is about $30.  Pretty awesome if you ask me!
Looking out the living room window to the right.
Looking directly out of the living room window.  I could do this all day and all night.  It really is a beautiful city.  Right past the really dark building in the distance is the water front :)  Yay for being on an island!

There is just a little taste of what Bahrain looks like for me everyday.  There is a grocery store and coffee shop a block away.  There is also a place called American Alley that is just south of my building that is really neat.  It is just a strip of restaurants with food that you could find in the States.  I've had some MarbleSlab Creamery a couple time already :)  Oh! and everywhere here pretty much delivers!  From pizza inn to a schwarma place to caribou coffee and McDonalds!  It's pretty great.
Until next time!
